Google Local allows you to find listings by category(pizza, recording, music, etc), business name, or even text found within a website that resides in your area! A fun search is to try and build a pizza with all of your toppings, and see who, in your area, has pizza toppings listed. Just for kicks, I tried “chicken parmesan hot peppers pizza” in Avon, OH. Although I found no results within 1 mile, 5 miles did turn up a result. 15 miles turned more results and I still had the option to search up to 45 miles. I decided to search for “habanero pizza", and Google was kind enough to suggest that I expand my search to 90 miles when it found no results and provided a link to perform that search. Initially you don’t have that option. In addition, Google provides maps and directions once you find exactly what you’re looking for. Try that with your local phone book. How you decide to use this information is up to you, but I know that this will always be the first place I turn to from now on! You get more focused information faster than you find the categories thumbing through the yellow pages. PROJECT GUTENBERG OFFICIAL HOME SITE - INDEX – Free Books On-Line -Jason Price - 5/10/2005 This is cool… now will I ever read them? Hmmm? Project Gutenberg is the Internet’s oldest producer of FREE electronic books (eBooks or eTexts). PROJECT GUTENBERG OFFICIAL HOME SITE - INDEX – Free Books On-Line - NetObjects Fusion/Search Engine(PhpDig) tutorial celebrated first birthday!!!Jason Price - 3/13/2005 Wow! How did I miss this?!? The tutorial that essentially made this site more than a slight speck on the web is officially over a year old (the tutorial was originally created and posted on my site around February 16, 2004). (more…) Re-inventing the wheel…Jason Price - 2/9/2005 I had hoped by this point in time, after achieving the look and feel that I wanted for this site, I would have created a really great tool for the Palm to allow posting to my WordPress blog… not a chance. That’s not to say I won’t be developing this tool. In fact, I have been researching the Blogger and ATOM APIs. I have a very good idea of the initial features that I want to include… but those won’t be anounced until I am ready to release the beta version (I’ve got to keep you coming back somehow, right?). I have, however, recently stumbled across an excellent tool for Win*:W.Bloggar. Similiar categories |
